Bethany Tarvin

Bethany attended Maplewood Preschool from age 3 to 5.

I loved going to Maplewood Preschool! I was always excited to go, and I had a great experience while I went there! Ever since I started preschool there, I have attended their Vacation Bible School, first as a participant and then as a volunteer where I work Arts and Crafts.

Bethany began school at the age of 6. She was homeschooled through Our Lady of Faith Catholic Homeschool from Kindergarten through Fourth Grade using Catholic Heritage Curricula as the foundation.

Catholic Heritage Curricula has fantastic textbooks that engage students while engaging them in their faith throughout all subjects. It's a fun and organized way to learn with everything planned out.

Bethany attended Picotte Elementary from fourth through sixth grade. during that time she took violin lessons and participated in the annual singing program. She even had a solo in fourth grade, something that had not occurred before for the program (solos were usually given to sixth graders). Her class also took a tour of the Nebraska State Capitol Building.

It was a big change for me, going to public school for the first time in my life. The best part of attending Picotte was that I met my best friend Mariyka.

Bethany went to Beveridge Middle School for Seventh Grade. During that time she participated in a production of Little Shop of Horrors and James and the Giant Peach.

I went to Beveridge for middle school. I was there a little over half a year. I learned what it’s like to have P.E. first period.

For Eighth Grade until Graduation, Bethany returned to homeschool with Our Lady of Faith. She used as her curriculum Easy Peasy All-in-one-Homeschool/Highschool, which consists completely of online courses.

Using Easy Peasy All-in-one-Highschool allowed me to put more time into practicing art and dance. It also let me have an education tailored toward my strengths and weaknesses.

Bethany is currently a student at Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. She actually started attending Metro her senior year of high school by means of a Nebraska Ace Scholarship. She is studying Early Childhood Development.

I started attending the Elkhorn Campus of MCC in March 2018. I am planning on getting a degree in Early Childhood Education. The campus is small so I have an easy time getting to my classes, and there are lots of wonderful students and teachers.

Bethany has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She is currently a student and a teacher's assistant at Turner Dance.

Bethany is the most pure in heart person I have ever met. Children are magically drawn to her innate ability to engage their spirits and creativity. Bethany is a very empathetic individual and would do anything in her power to help someone.

Bethany has been involved in her church's youth group throughout high school. Now that she has graduated, she assists with the program.

I enjoyed Bethany's willingness to help out. She was often at her best when working with children.

Bethany has attended summer camp at Pro Sanctity's Camp Fun 'n Faith every year since 2011. For the last four years, she has also worked as a junior counselor for the younger kids' day camp. Bethany hopes to continue working as a full counselor in the coming years.

Bethany has been coming to Camp Fun & Faith for many years, first as a camper, and then to assist. She is amazingly generous in her service, cheerful in doing tasks, attentive to what needs to be done, and quick to volunteer for a job.

Every year, Steubenville College in Ohio presents a series of conferences around the country. Bethany has been able to attend for the last three years. She even got to see Matt Maher in concert one of the years!
